Hard drive disk benchmark and speed testing software.

CrystalDiskInfo is a small benchmarking application for hard drives. The software allows you to carry out a range of tests on your hard disk drive (HDD) to determine its reading and writing capabilities.

Getting started

The usage of the program is pretty simple and allows you to test the speed of connected hard drives. It uses different sizes blocks to test the performance. The results of these tests can help you detect any bottlenecks and assess whether or not replacing your disk is necessary.

The application was obviously developed with the user in mind, giving you the ability to measure both sequential and random read/write speeds while displaying all details in the main window. The interface is designed to make the app very user-friendly, so all the information you need is readily available.

Easily test the speed and identify bottlenecks on your HDD

Conducting the tests with CrystalDiskMark is a fast and straightforward process. The software needs just a few minutes to perform all the benchmarks, and it is recommended to close all other applications before starting the tests for the most accurate results. Despite the testing process, the tool does not put a tremendous strain on your processor or RAM, and it uses very little system resources.

What's important to note about CrystalDiskMark is that it allows you to manually select the number of test runs, the size of the test, and the drive to analyze. All you have to do is press the start button, and CrystalDiskMark will get started on all the tests. The results are displayed in a clear and concise manner, making it easy for users of any level to understand.

Our take

Overall, CrystalDiskInfo completes its tests without leaving much of a footprint in terms of CPU and memory usage but to get accurate results, it is recommended other applications remain closed.
